Christchurch and Sydney

Yesterday we drove from Queenstown to Christchurch, New Zealand.  It took us about seven hours but it was GORGEOUS.  We stopped along the way and got some fantastic pictures. Last night we were sight-seeing’ed out and went to a movie.  Avatar.  It was fantastic!  I’d highly recommend seeing it. I know I should post more [...]

Queenstown

We’ve been in Queenstown for a few days now and we absolutely love it.  It’s small enough so that you can walk everywhere (or rather, we can walk into town from our flat) but large enough so that there is a ton of stuff to do. Yesterday was busy.  In the morning, Tim did an [...]

Dutch oven

So yeah, Rotorua stinks.  Literally. Rotorua is known for it’s geothermal activity, which means there is an excess of sulfur compounds that are released into the environment.  It’s all quite scientific and of course everyone warns you about it, but Jesus Tapdancing Christ, it is absolutely rancid.  I don’t think you can’t prepare yourself for it, you just [...]

We grabbed our rental car and headed toward [...]

Brisbane

Day off

We took today off from being tourists.  Since we landed in Sydney five days ago, we’ve been going, non stop.  It was time we forced a bit of relaxation.  Tell me we aren’t the only people who need a vacation from their vacation?  Today though, it was nice to know that we had nothing on [...]

Reef day

As any diver knows, a day on the reef is absolutely exhausting.  We’re no exception. It’s about 7:45 right now and I’m counting the minutes until dinner is done and we can go to sleep.  Tim’s been in the shower for close to thirty minutes, I should go check on him actually. The GBR was nice.  [...]

Adventure day

We were up early this morning, after a wild night of hanging out on our patio and drinking $3.99 wine.  We had some aspirin (for the hangover) and coffee (for the hangover), we threw on some hats, hopped in our orange hatchback (we call it Pig) and off we went. Side note: if you ever [...]
